Many of the wealthy Romans would serve dinner in courses because they could afford so much food and expensive food. Their first course was eggs, vegetables and shellfish. The main course consisted of meat, fish and chicken. The last course was dessert, it had honey-sweetened cake and fruit. The wealthy could also afford to buy expensive spices such as Cinnamon, Pepper, Nutmeg and Cloves. The rich lived a very luxurious life that had nice furniture, expensive food and they had slaves to do all the work, like to cater and prepare their food. They could also go to the colosseum and the Circus Maximus for entertainment. At these places, the rich got nice seat cusions and protections from the rain and sun. They wealthy often lived in big houses that had two court yards, and multiple rooms.
